2024 ICS Training Recap

On November 5 - 7, the JSC Co-Op hosted an Incident Command System (ICS) 300 Course at the JEA Conservation Center. Seventeen students attended this outstanding training conducted by Doug Schuster and his team at Planning and Prevention Solutions.

The ICS-300 course provided an in-depth focus on the NIMS Incident Command System (ICS) that included the tools, practices, and procedures available in ICS to effectively manage emergency incidents and planned local events at a local Type 3 level. Expanding upon ICS-100 and ICS-200, the course taught students the basic ICS concepts that allow an incident management organization to expand and contract as needed to fit the incident and maintain its operational effectiveness.

The ICS-300 course is the foundation of ICS training. Understanding the basic ICS concepts and principles will allow these students to delve into job-specific training to ensure proficiency when the occasion arises.
